Developing Organizational Influence

Objectives

 Upon completion of the session on developing organizational influence, each participant will be able to:

  1. Recognize various styles of influence found in their peers, superiors, and employees.
  2. Analyze potential actions and determine strategies to implement preferred influence styles that are effective for a specific scenario.
  3. Differentiate between influence and manipulation.
  4. Identify common influence currencies and recognize situations and individuals where any given currency may be valued.
  5. Develop a personal plan of action to enhance their organizational influence.

 

Narrative Description

This workshop will consist of group discussion, interactive learning sessions, and presentations designed to improve the influence skills of the Rehab manager in today's complex healthcare environment. An emphasis will be placed on superior and subordinate influence strategies. Cases will focus on the application of motivational theory in the daily activities of the manager.

This workshop will benefit novice and experienced managers and staff in any of the rehab disciplines.
